Successful Business Breakfast for GNBCC Premium Members

Successful Business Breakfast for GNBCC Premium Members

Last Wednesday morning, GNBCC organised a Business Breakfast for its Premium Members at the Ambassador’s Residence with GIPC’s Yofi Grant as our special guest. The theme of the morning was: "One Year of Pro-Business Government: What Has Changed?"

After a word of welcome by the Ambassador Mr. Ron Strikker and GNBCC’s Chairman Mr. Kofi Boateng, Mr. Yofi Grant held an introduction speech in which he illustrated the tough year for the current government and how Ghana has finally found the way of economic recovery illustrated by improved macroeconomic indicators such as better economic growth, a diminishing deficit and lower interest rates at the Bank. He also stated that 2017 was a year of preparation and that in 2018 new policies were to be rolled out which would diminish the cost of doing business and improve the general business climate.

This was partly to answer a number of questions from Premium Members and also on questions  which were prepared by GNBCC’s General Manager Tjalling Wiarda on the basis of GIPC materials such as the “Doing Business in Ghana”-brochure and Mr. Grants own speech at the last GIPC conference held at Labadi Beach on the 13th of December.

Mr. Grant answered questions about the minimum equity contribution, the set-up of a post investment service, the Business Regulatory Reform, starting up a new business, 100% foreign ownership versus local content policies and the digital economy.

The morning was successfully closed by the Ambassador with the promise of Mr. Grant that this informal way of meeting and discussing should be repeated every quarter.
