Looking for Work In Ghana: Mara de Graaf

I am Mara, an independent consultant looking to contribute to sustainable landscapes in Ghana. I am available for short term consultancy assignments on cocoa, forestry and other land-uses and have experience in both the environmental and socio-economic dimensions of landscape management.

With an MSc in Environmental Biology complemented with a minor in Business and Economics, I can take on specific technical topics as well as look beyond disciplines at the bigger picture. In recent years, I have applied these skills to the topic of multifunctional landscapes, in which agriculture and environmental functions are combined.

For the past two years, I worked at Tropenbos International where I developed and implemented tools for participatory monitoring in Ghana and the Philippines. Before this, I spent three months in Ghana to analyse sustainable cocoa production in Western Region. You may also know me as participant of the New Business Challenge Ghana in 2015, where I worked on a business case for solar-battery systems.
