New Business Challenge and Growing Business Together - Brainstorming & Networking Event

Last Tuesday, 20th of February, GNBCC organized a Brainstorming and Networking Event for alumni of the two main youth entrepreneurship programs sponsored by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Netherlands Embassy in Ghana. Participants of the New Business Challenge 2014-2017 (NBC) and Growing Business Together 2017 (GBT) came together to connect with each other and to brainstorm about the way forward for Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship in Ghana.

The event was hosted by GNBCC and took place at Level 8 Lounge in Airport City. It was attended by 50 people, and representatives of RVO and the Dutch Embassy in Accra were also present. They will use the outcomes from the brainstorm as input for thinking about the follow-up of Growing Business Together and the New Business Challenge, since both programs will end after 2018.

The evening gave alumni and organizers of both programs the opportunity to connect and network with each other, and to share ideas on potential follow-up. An entrepreneurial spirit was visible during the evening, with many participants sharing new business ideas and pitching their own (start-up) businesses. The networking also created new linkages between the groups, and who knows to which new business ideas this could lead!

About both programs:
The New Business Challenge is a unique business case competition where Dutch and Ghanaian students and starters work together in mixed teams on solutions for companies in Ghana. The NBC is implemented by GNBCC in Ghana and SustainableMotion and Crosswise Works in the Netherlands.
