Over 300 applications for the NBC 2018!

Over 300 Ghanaian students and recent graduates have applied for participating in the New Business Challenge 2018! This is an record high number of applicants for the fifth edition of the NBC. After going through the applications, the NBC-team have selected 60 students to participate in the kick-off session of the program on 24th May. This session will function as a second selection moment: out of the 60 participants, 20 will be selected to participate in the full NBC program.

The New Business Challenge is an annual business case competition in which 20 Dutch and 20 Ghanaian students and young professionals work together for 2 months in mixed teams on business cases for 5 Dutch companies that are active in Ghana. It is organized by GNBCC, together with our partner SuststainableMotion, and commissioned by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and the Netherlands Embassy in Ghana. The program includes a study trip to the Netherlands and Ghana, and offers great networking and learning opportunities.

For this year’s edition, 5 companies have formulated a business case regarding their activities or plans in Ghana. They need fresh and out-of-the-box insights and solutions of entrepreneurial students and young professionals to take the next steps! Delphy, Friss, Jolinaiko, Van den Bosch and MDF are the participating companies of 2018.

A well-balanced program is in place for participants to arrive at the best possible solution and to maximize their development. The teams go on two study trips full with trainings, workshops and fieldtrips. They will be coached and supported by experts and professionals. All teams present their solutions at the Residency of the Dutch Ambassador in Ghana during the studytrip. An independent jury will choose the winning business solution of the NBC 2018.
