PUM Netherlands senior experts is looking for Local Representative

Living in/around Kumasi, Ghana

PUM Netherlands is a volunteer organisation committed to the sustainable development of small and medium-size enterprises in developing countries and emerging markets. We offer practical expertise within the most important sectors of the economy, giving primary attention to producers and consumers.

They have a network of about 150 representatives in around 30 countries around the world, connecting directly with entrepreneurs, business support organizations and partners locally. We work with around 2000 senior experts who share their knowledge on a one-on-one basis. Either through short-term and repetitive advisory missions at the work floor, or through online coaching activities.

Local Representatives

PUM is looking for a new local representative to join the PUM Ghana team. The representative is a PUM ambassador and a key person in the country and region. The main responsibility of the representative is to identify and contact SME’s and supporting organizations to generate projects in our focus sectors. The representative assists companies during the application, preparation, execution, and evaluation of the project. In addition, the representative is expected to provide support to the Dutch volunteer experts in Ghana who are advising the selected companies. Finally, the representative is asked to deliver input in the country strategy and in increasing PUM’s visibility in Ghana.

The position as a local representative is a voluntary side activity that requires +- 1 day a week availability. While it is a volunteer position, you will receive a cost reimbursement for the projects acquired.


  • Connected to a large network of SME’s and experience in developing SME’s
  • Commercial attitude and experience in sales and marketing
  • Demonstrable experience in programme management
  •  Financially independent
  • Access to transport to visit (potential) projects
  • Inherent motivation to promote the development of Ghanaian SME’s
  • Knowledgeable about the local, social, economic environment, language, and culture
  • Work experience in NGO’s is desirable.
