Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) is an initiative of the Black Star International Film Institute; a not for profit organization. It is the first of its kind to be organised in Ghana and engages filmmakers worldwide with scheduled activities that are scattered across selected towns and venues within the capital city; Accra.

Though it's primary focus is on film, the festival incorporates and promotes other areas of art, such as music. The Black Star International Film Festival has positioned itself as a platform for advocacy, knowledge sharing, networking, entertainment and more with its various exciting activities including panel sessions, film screenings, open air cinemas, music concerts and much more that create the environment for filmmakers, film fans, investors etc to learn, have fun and do business each year, therefore endearing itself to the numerous people who partake in it annually.

This year’s edition, under the theme “Film as a tool for National Development”, starts from August 11th to 18th, and it brings together over thirty (30) films and filmmakers from various countries including India, United Kingdom, France, Brazil, USA, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana.
