Official Opening of Mammoet's West African Office

Last Wednesday, an exclusive reception was held at the official residence of Ambassador Ron Strikker on the occasion of the opening of Mammoet’s West African office in Ghana. The office will be headed by Mr. Harmen Tiddens, General Manager West Africa who welcomed all guests followed by an entertaining speech by Ambassador Strikker who welcomed Mammoet to Ghana and touched on the economic perspectives in the West African region. After that, there was a speech by Mr. Oko Omaboe of ENOA, the consultancy firm who was instrumental in getting Mammoet to Ghana and set up their regional Head Office. A final speech was given by the MD of Mammoet Middle East and Africa, Mr. Hein Kuipers.

Mammoet was 1st established in 1807 and is now part of the Dutch SHV Group. Mamomoet, a GNBCC Member, is also the global leader in engineered heavy lifting and transport. Their slogan is “ The biggest thing we move is time”. Mammoet has been active in Ghana with projects in Cameroon, Benin, Nigeria in the West African region but they are also active all over Africa and also have offices in South Africa. The equipment they use are huge; for lifting only they have 1245 cranes with a total capacity of 2,867,779 ton meters ranging from ring, crawler, terminal, rough terrain, tower, truck and all terrain cranes. Also they have hydraulic and tower gantries. Also they are the owners of different huge trucks and trailers in order to move heavy, very heavy equipment or pats up to 197,600 tons.
