GNBCC Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Yesterday, the 8th of November, the annual AGM of GNBCC was held at the Golden Tulip Hotel with 34 Member companies in attendance. The AGM was opened by GNBCC Board Chairman Mr. Kofi Boateng. After the AGM Notice was read by Board Secretary, Mrs. Brenda Bijen, the meeting started with last year’s minutes followed by the presentation of the financials by the Board Treasurer Mr. Henry Sunkwa Mills. Next, an overview of GNBCC’s past activities in 2017 plus the plans for the remainder of 2018 was presented by GNBCC’s General Manager Tjalling Wiarda. GNBCC has at present 113 members, an increase of 28 Members or 33% since last year’s AGM. GNBCC’s Afke van der Woude was honoured for her excellent work since she started with GNBCC in 2016. She and her husband will return to the Netherlands and hence she will leave GNBCC at the end of this year. A lot of the Members know her very well as being the lady behind the New Business Challenge. Also, GNBCC bid farewell to three of its Board Members, Mr. Saqib Nazir, Mr. Bas de Vaal, and Mrs. Susanne Bouma. They were thanked for their efforts these past years. Subsequently, the new candidates for Board Membership were presented to the AGM and after an election, Mr. Harm Ploeger of Red Sea Housing, Mrs. Shirley Tony Kum of Vivo Energy and Ms. Néné Barry of Witteveen & Bos were elected to the Board. After the election, the Members in attendance were thanked and the meeting was closed.
