New Business Challenge 2019: Getting Ready For The Study Trips

The study trips in the Netherlands and Ghana are getting closer and the selected participants of the New Business Challenge 2019 have started counting down the days!! Last Friday, GNBCC organized a Preparation Workshop in Accra and in The Hague to prepare the students and coaches for the upcoming study trips. The workshop welcomed the 20 Ghanaian participants and their coaches Samuel Waterberg (People’s Pension Trust) and Jemila Abdulai ( at the Royal Netherlands Embassy.

After the Kick-off on the 24th of May 2019, 20 Dutch and 20 Ghanaian participants were selected for the New Business Challenge to work together in mixed teams on solutions for five companies: Allianz Insurance, Farmerline, Closing the Loop, Tempohousing and Solidaridad. In the past few weeks, all teams got to know each other better by working on an online team assignment. During the Preparation Workshop, duos presented their teammates to the rest of the group. The group also got to know their coaches better, who prepared challenging and fun exercises for the day and the participants learned more about working together in multicultural teams. At the end of the day, the participants had a good insight of what they could expect of the program and were all set for the upcoming study trips.

In a few days, the Ghanaian participants will come over to the Netherlands for the first study trip. The group will leave on 5th July and will spend 10 days working on their business case in the Netherlands.
