The University College is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and Oklahoma State University in the United States.

Palm was founded as a result of personal yearnings of Dr. Peter Carlos Okantey and his quest to help bridge the development gap that exists between Ghana and the United States. Peter envisioned bringing hope and a future to young Africans by setting a liberal arts university in Ghana to educate ethical and excellent leaders in Africa when he lived in the United States. Peter quickly noticed the differences between the two worlds; the United States and Ghana; lack of leadership, investment in the people and quality higher education the first twelve months of his stay in the United States.

Palm Institute currently offers a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Business Information Technology Program and a list of professional certification programs in Cyber Security and Safety Management, Programming Fundamentals, Google Cloud Fundamentals, Data Driven Mobile Application Development and Data Driven Dynamic Web Application Development.
