GNBCC starts Youth in Agribusiness project with Ghana Food Movement (GFM)

09-09-2022

GFM is a grassroots member network of innovative and sustainable driven actors in the food and agri space. Through their network of farmers, chefs, scientists, entrepreneurs and others they connect to highlight the potential and value of Ghanaian food. GFM hosts events like food tours, panel discussions, dinners and urban farming workshops in Accra but they also are involved in other programs.

One of these programs is the Youth in Agribusiness program (YIA) which will be funded by GNBCC’s  Private Sector Development project supported by the Royal Netherlands Embassy.

GNBCC has teamed up with GFM to run the YIA program. The program trains and connect youth to job opportunities within the food and agri sector. Through field trips, expert sessions and trainings in skills development the youth get new insights and tools to use on the job market. GNBCC will liaise in its network of Member companies to find out what skills are needed by companies who are interested in offering job opportunities to skillful trained youth through internships etc.

This week, GNBCC and GFM have started the work and are excited for this collaboration to create more employment opportunities for youth as well as preparing trained skillful youth for potential future employers .
