REQUEST FOR INPUTS/FEEDBACK/COMMENTS ON THE BUSINESS REGULATORY REFORMS COMMISSION BILL, 2024

The Business Regulatory Reforms (BRR) program of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ghana extends its compliments.

The Business Regulatory Reforms (BRR) Program is one of the key components of the Government’s Agenda for Economic and Industrial Transformation. The program seeks to improve the quality and transparency of regulatory administration in Ghana and create a predictable business regulatory environment conducive for private sector development.  As part of the strategies to ensure the sustainability of reforms, the Ministry of Trade and Industry is promoting the passage of an Act of Parliament known as the Business Regulatory Reforms (BRR) Commission Bill, 2024.

The BRR Commission Bill, 2024, when passed into Law, shall enforce the use of BRR regulatory governance tools and risk management mechanisms such as Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA), and the Ghana Business Regulatory Reform portal for public engagements on business-related policy, legal and regulatory changes. The Bill shall establish acceptable standards of transparency to protect the integrity of regulatory practices through the coordination and tracking of reforms of key government institutions. The BRR Bill, 2024 shall establish a Business Regulatory Reforms Commission which shall facilitate the ideals of the Business Regulatory Reforms and serve as the link between Ghana’s Regulatory Administration and the private sector by assessing and evaluating the impact business regulations.

As part of the processes leading to the passage of the Bill, and efforts to ensure wider stakeholder participation in policy/rule making, the Bill has been posted on the Ghana Business Regulatory Reforms Portal (GBRRP) for public consultations. In this regard, the Ministry wishes to invite you to review and provide your inputs/comments/feedback to facilitate the finalization of the BRR Bill, 2024 by clicking on the link below.
