Celebrating the Success of the Women in Business Program

On Wednesday, July 10th, the Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council (GNBCC) proudly celebrated the closing ceremony of the Women in Business Program at La Villa Boutique Hotel in Osu. This program has been an outstanding success, with participants achieving significant improvements in their businesses, including increased demand for their products, expansion of their product range and workforce, enhanced corporate governance and compliance, and overall improved confidence and leadership skills.

During the closing ceremony, Enam Korsiwa Gbekor, Country Director at IFDC, delivered an insightful keynote address. This was followed by a short documentary showcasing the journey of the Women in Business Program's first cohort. We then heard inspiring stories from both mentees and mentors, highlighting their experiences and achievements. Certificates were presented by Naomi Tuinstra from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The break and lunch provided ample time for mentees to network, showcase, and sell their products.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the incredible mentors who made this journey possible:

- Fatima Alimohamed from African Brand Warrior

- Evelyn Lokko from Philips Ghana

- Elsie Appeadu from Delft Imaging

- Barbara Davies from MullenLowe Accra

- Celestina Danso-Arhin from Holland GreenTech

- Abena Ntrakwah-Mensah from Ntrakwah & Co.

- Ethel Setordzie from RDK Consulting

- Shirley Tony Kum from Vivo Energy

- Dr. Florence Vanderpuye from Rosh Pinnah Ventures

- Madam Catherine Krobo Edusei from EdenTree

We also extend our gratitude to the facilitators who enriched the program:

- Dr. Kweku Ainuson from AB Lexmall and Associates

- Robert Quartey and his team at Comexas

- Toyin Dania and Anita Williams from Dania Williams

- Catherine Krobo Edusei and her team at EdenTree Limited

- Fatima Alimohamed from African Brand Warrior

- Dr. Florence Vanderpuye from Rosh Pinnah Ventures

We were honored to have Naomi Tuinstra, Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, represent the Embassy at our event. Her presence underscores the strong support and collaboration between our organizations. Additionally, a special thanks to our keynote speaker, Enam Korsiwa Gbekor from IFDC, for her inspiring words and invaluable insights.

Congratulations to all the participants who successfully completed this first cohort. Your dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and we look forward to seeing your continued success and impact in the business world.
