Ghana-Netherlands Horticulture Matchmaking: Real Businesses, Real Opportunities

To close the Dutch horticulture trade mission to Ghana on a high note, GNBCC—together with the Netherlands-Africa Business Council (NABC) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana, hosted a high-level matchmaking event on Wednesday, May 28 at La Villa Boutique Hotel.

GNBCC carefully curated and invited Ghanaian companies that matched the specific interests and requests of the Dutch delegation, ensuring a targeted and strategic engagement platform.

🔶 Hilde Famaey, General Manager of GNBCC, welcomed all attendees and invited Emmanuel Fosu Forson, Head of Investment Promotion and Business Development at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), to open the session.

𝗜𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗱:

• The long-standing and strategic Ghana–Netherlands trade relationship, with the Netherlands among Ghana’s top five import partners—particularly in cocoa.
• A total of 𝗨𝗦𝗗 𝟲.𝟮𝟲 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 in FDI from the Netherlands between 1994 and 2024 across 𝟮𝟱𝟰 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 in services, general trading, manufacturing, and more.
• In January 2025, Ghana exported 𝗘𝗨𝗥 𝟭𝟲𝟰 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 worth of goods to the Netherlands and imported 𝗘𝗨𝗥 𝟴𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻, yielding a positive trade balance of 𝗘𝗨𝗥 𝟳𝟵 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻.
• Ghana’s investor-friendly policies, including full repatriation of profits and dividends, transfer of funds upon liquidation, and a secure, flexible business climate.
• Priority sectors for investment, including 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆—which aligned strongly with the interests of the Dutch companies present.
He encouraged the delegation to engage further with the GIPC team to explore the wide range of opportunities available.

Following the presentation, the matchmaking session was opened.
