Introducing GNBCC New Member: Eden Tree

Catherine Krobo Edusie started her career as a banker in 1986 at the Saudi American Bank (UK) where she worked for ten years. She then moved to Ghana in 1996 and started Eden Tree and has spear headed the company from inception to date. She primarily focuses on directing and managing the company’s operations and to give strategic guidance and direction to the board to ensure that the company achieves its mission and objectives.

Some of the many inpacts of Eden Tree are;

  • Supporting over 150 smallholder farmers in overcoming technical and commercial barriers; over 68 tons of produce purchased from farmers monthly (~$62k)
  • Use of hybrid solar system to power operations.
  • Payment of tuition fee for selected staff wards.
  • Subsidized healthcare costs for all staff.
  • Covid-19 relief package of food parcels shared within the KICC Squatters community (OMO Yard) through contributions from MD & family and Eden Tree Limited Staff.

GhanaVeg: Eden Tree has consistently been on the GhanaVeg project for promoting sustainable agriculture and agri-food systems in Ghana. GhanaVeg is the Government of Netherland's development strategy in fruits and vegetable sector in Ghana.

German Cooperation Agency (GIZ): GIZ has been a partner and supporter of Eden Tree’s strategy in providing Green Label Certified fruits and vegetables to consumers all over Ghana.

Partners in Food Solutions: Eden Tree has a very active collaboration with Partners in Food Solutions, an independent non-profit organization working to strengthen food security, improve nutrition and increase economic development across Africa by expanding and increasing the competitiveness of the food processing sector.
