Project UPdate: SME Training Module 4- "Upgrading to EU"

The fourth module of the SME Training concluded today, focusing on the topic "Upgrading to the EU." This comprehensive training spanned four days and was hosted at the LA Villa Boutique Hotel. The sessions were led by George Boateng, an esteemed associate consultant from ACET (based in Accra) and MSM.

George Boateng guided the participants through an extensive exploration of "The Opportunity of Overseas Markets." He emphasized the substantial growth prospects that businesses can achieve by expanding into international markets. Furthermore, the training addressed critical aspects of "Export Compliance under the EPA," where Mr. Boateng highlighted the importance of adhering to stringent international trade regulations. These include product-specific rules and rigorous safety and quality standards.

Additionally, Mr. Boateng provided valuable insights into "Getting Your Business Ready for Export." He covered essential steps and strategies, delving into the intricacies of logistics, packaging, pricing, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This comprehensive approach ensures businesses are thoroughly prepared for the complexities of exporting.

The training also included practical steps to position businesses favorably to capitalize on growth opportunities in global markets. By the end of the module, participants were equipped with the knowledge and strategies necessary to support their upgrade and successfully navigate the international business landscape.

This Tailor-Made-Training is a joint initiative by four organizations: the Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council (GNBCC), the Cocoa Value Addition Artisans Association of Ghana (COVAAAGH), The Africa Trade Academy (ATA) and Maastricht School of Management (MSM). The trainers are from MSM and the ATA in Ghana.
